"Vision Zero" means working in various ways to achieve zero road fatalities and serious injuries. This goal is pursued through a safe traffic system, based on the assumption that humans, as part of this system, are never error-free. Therefore, both vehicles and road infrastructure need to be (further) developed, and new solutions need to be found.
"Vision Zero" as a political program sets clear priorities. According to the German Road Safety Council (DVR), this means: "When weighing different values or goals, human integrity must take precedence. Life is non-negotiable."
