The renewal of the vehicle restraint systems at the Schönefelder Kreuz will be carried out from March to November 2024.
The project covers the motorways A10, A13, and A113 and involves the installation of various restraint systems, including MegaRail bk, MegaRail sk, Super-Rail, Super-Rail Eco, Eco-Safe 2.0+1.33, and CrashGuard crash cushion.
A particular challenge lies in the tight schedule, aiming to keep the closures of on-ramps and off-ramps as short as possible and to minimize the impact on traffic flow on the affected motorways.
Overall, this project represents an important step towards improving road safety and infrastructure in the area of the Schönefelder Kreuz and in the immediate vicinity of BER Airport, benefiting not only daily commuters but also regional and long-distance traffic.
